Coach Information


This page is dedicated to providing general information to assist those volunteers who coach and/or manage a team in our organization.  If you have any additional questions or concerns that are not outlined here - please reach out to your division commissioner or president.

Background Check

Background checks are required every (2) years.  Your background check must be valid through the entire season.

Required Course Registration

To complete some of the required courses you must first create an account with NFHS.  Click here to register now!

After account is created please complete the Heat Illness and Concussion reports.

Equipment Regulations

Bats

T-Ball. No restrictions.
Coach Pitch. No restrictions.
Kid Pitch (9&10).  -10 or greater. (ie. -9, -8, etc). No two-piece or composite bats permitted.
Kid Pitch (11&12).  -10 or greater. (ie. -9, -8, etc).  No two-piece or composite bats permitted.
Kid Pitch (13&14). -5 or greater. (ie. -4, -3, etc).


Cleats

T-Ball. Rubber or molded plastic only.
Coach Pitch. Rubber or molded plastic only..
Kid Pitch (9&10). Rubber or molded plastic only.
Kid Pitch (11&12). Rubber or molded plastic only..
Kid Pitch (13&14). Rubber, molded plastic, or metal.

Field Maintenance


All fields will be mowed by the association on a weekly basis.  
Managers/coaches are responsible for dragging and lining fields.  Lime is provided for lining fields.

Port-a-Johns are paid for and maintained by the association.

Games

Game Baseballs
Each home team is required to provide at least (1) new game ball for each home game.
Game balls will be provided to each manager at the start of the season.

Scorekeeper
Each team is required to have a scorekeeper/bookkeeper for each game.  (not required for t-ball)
Scorebook is to be signed at the completion of each game by the umpire.

Umpires
Each home team is required to pay the umpire officiating the game.  Managers are given funds by the association to pay umpires. 
Please ensure proper and timely payment to your officials at the start of a game.

Injuries

Any injuries, including players, coaches, fans, umpires, need to be reported to the president immediately.

Fundraiser Raffle

The Canton South Baseball Association hosts an annual raffle fundraiser to lower the cost of registration fees. 
Players who participate in the raffle are responsible for turning in their tickets by the raffle deadline.

Raffle ticket money will be turned into coaches.  Coaches will then turn money into the association.

Raffle Ticket Turn In Date:  Tuesday, April 1, 2025
Raffle Drawing Date:  Sunday, April 6, 2025

Sponsors

Sponsor partnership with local businesses is a key success metric for our organization.  We are eternally grateful for their commitment to our program's growth.  Coaches are required to have a sponsor for each team. 

Sponsor Fee:  $500
Sponsor fees are due by April 1
