Frequently Asked Questions

What is the age cutoff date?
Each player must meet the age requirements by May 1.  T-ball players must be 5 years-old by May 1 to register.  14 year-old players must not turn 15 before May 1.  Player eligibility is determined by age - not by grade.

When will my child have practice?
Indoor practice begins for all age groups the first week of March. Typically players ages 5-8 practice 1x per week while players ages 9-14 practice 2x per week. All indoor practices are held at Walker Elementary School.  The indoor practice schedule will be determined by the CSBA board once teams have been assigned.  Outdoor practices will begin when the weather improves.  Outdoor practice days/times/frequency are determined by the head coach.

When will games begin?
Games begin for all age groups at the end of April and beginning of May.  Peewee age group typically plays 2 games per week while 9-14 plays 2-3 games per week.  Most games are played during the week and begin at 6pm.

Where will my child play home games?
Coaches will select fields at the beginning of the season after team assignment.  All t-ball players will have their home field at the Waco PeeWee Complex on Orchardview Ave in Waco.  Players ages 8-14 are determined by field availability & selection.

What league does CS Youth Baseball play under?
Although leagues have not been finalized - our goal is to keep all games within Stark County and near areas.  Last year our Peewee players (ages 5-8) played in the new Perry League with Perry, Minerva, & East Canton as opponents.  9-14 year old players will most likely be playing under Ohio Hot Stove with potential opponents  including Richville, Minerva, East Canton, Alliance & Sandy Valley.

What gear does my child need?
Full uniforms are supplied for all players (jersey, pants, socks, & hat) by the organization.  Baseball cleats & a baseball glove are required.  Optional equipment includes batting gloves, batting helmet, and bat.  Batting helmets & bats are supplied for each team and are shared between players.  If you choose to purchase your own bat - please contact your coach to confirm the bat restrictions for your age group.

What is the required fundraiser?
Each player is required to participate in the fundraiser.  (There is an option to opt-out of the fundraiser for $40 at time of registration.)  The fundraiser requires each player to sell twenty-five $2 raffle tickets.

When does fundraiser money need to be turned in?
Fundraiser money needs to be turned into the head coach by Sunday, May 1, 2022.

When is the fundraiser raffle prize drawing?

The drawing will be Sunday, May 8, 2022.  Prize winners will be drawn & contacted by CSBA board members.

What if my child is new to the area?  How do they get assigned to a team?
New players automatically go into a player draft for their respective age group and are selected by coaches based on the CSBA ByLaws.

Who do I contact if I have questions?
